Rodney Scheck
Lead Consultant
Rodney is a 30+ year operations and design executive with a proven record of solving complex problems and delivering measurable performance improvements across fast-growing logistics networks. His career spans leadership roles in operations, network design, automation, and large-scale facility programs—guiding both frontline teams and senior contributors toward operational excellence.
Rodney’s work ethic was shaped early, putting himself through school as a carpenter and learning the value of efficiency and precision. He began his logistics career at FedEx Ground (1988–2001), then a rapidly scaling challenger to UPS. Starting as a part-time manager and rising to Senior Manager, he was repeatedly tapped to turn around underperforming operations—efforts that became foundational to his leadership philosophy and approach to operational transformation.
He later joined APX Logistics, an expanding startup where he gained deep, end-to-end exposure to operations management. There, he designed and implemented process improvements, standard operating procedures, and training programs that strengthened consistency and scaled best practices. His responsibilities spanned day-to-day operations, sortation design, and P&L management as the company grew from a regional network into a national footprint.
Rodney’s next chapter was at Newgistics—later acquired by Pitney Bowes —where he led some of the company’s most significant operational and facility programs. Over his tenure, he opened, closed, relocated, and launched more than 20 facilities, many of them managed independently from concept through execution. He developed end-to-end automation programs, including budget development, greenfield facility design, and the deployment of sortation and robotic solutions to scale throughput and reduce cost.
Across every role, Rodney has built a reputation as a results-driven leader with a strong work ethic, a practical engineering mindset, and a passion for creating high-performing operations. His ability to diagnose issues quickly, implement sustainable solutions, and guide teams through transformative change has defined his impact on every organization he has served.
Rodney holds a Bachelor of Administration in Operations Management from the University of Toledo and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. His professional development includes management programs such as Effective Decision Making, Essentials of OSHA Training, Leading Through Personal Excellence, Leadership Essentials for Managers (LEM), and Lead and Interactive Management Training. He has been honored with multiple awards throughout his career, including the Pure Warrior Award, the Newgistics MVP Award, and the Innovation of the Year Award.
