Renowned for his ability to conceptualize and execute innovative solutions, Dan has led high-performing teams in operations, industrial engineering, workforce optimization, automation deployment, and lean process implementation across diverse industries, including logistics, retail, foodservice, and utilities. At Pitney Bowes (2021–2024), Dan held progressive leadership roles, culminating as Head of Industrial Engineering & Operational Excellence. He spearheaded the consolidation of a 63-person organization, unifying siloed functions support functions, resulting in a 39% improvement in units-per-hour productivity. As Vice President of Operational Excellence, he designed and deployed a company-wide Quality Management System, reducing automation defect resolution time by 50% and improving parcel scan rates by 6%. Dan architected a client-centric Operator Field Bonus structure, driving a 40% cycle time improvement and 23% increase in on-time delivery. He also led a sustainability program managing an $18M budget, realizing $7M in savings through waste reduction initiatives. Earlier, as Senior Director of Operations Practices, Dan transformed associate training, reducing turnover from 100% in 2021 to 39% by Q1 2024, and co-led the Pitney Bowes Management Academy, training over 100 managers in operational and leadership skills.
Prior to Pitney Bowes, Dan spent nearly a decade at West Monroe Partners (2012–2021), leading operational excellence and workforce optimization engagements for global Fortune 500 organizations. As a Senior Program Manager, he managed a $5M budget and led a network-wide labor management program across 71 facilities, delivering high client satisfaction and defending labor output expectations in arbitration. His work with the nation’s second largest Police department optimized resource scheduling and training academy facility utilization. As Workforce Optimization Manager and Senior Engineering Consultant, Dan implemented lean methodologies, labor management systems, and smart grid supply chain solutions, driving productivity and cost efficiencies for multinational clients in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
Dan began his career at United Parcel Service (UPS) (2006–2012), where he held engineering roles across hub sortation, transportation network, and delivery operations. His work was primarily focused on optimizing facility & equipment utilization, while also deploying best-in-class driver dispatch solutions across Chicago’s small parcel ground network, enhancing operational efficiency and service reliability.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University (2006) and is distinguished by certifications as a Prosci Change Practitioner, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and MOST Work Measurement professional. A published thought leader, he presented on engineered slotting optimization at the 2015 IIE Annual Conference.
