Cynthia brings over 25 years of industry and corporate experience in global procurement, supplierrisk management, supplier quality, manufacturing operations, lean manufacturing, and corporate compliance. She has worked in large(over $2B) enterprises in technology and services-based industry with industrial warehouse operations, and a jet engine manufacturing company. Her responsibilities included improving operational efficiencies and delivery performance, process improvement, supplier risk management, supplier cost savings and avoidance. She was responsible for $80M in cost savings during her tenure in the Enterprise Procurement organization.
Background & Experience
Cynthia began her career in manufacturing operations as a development and process engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Turbine Airfoils division, working in the Advanced Coatings department. She led a Kaizen team to reduce cycle time, eliminate waste, and re-layout a production cell. She was also an internal auditor/safety inspector for that division and conducted internal Environmental, Health, and Safety audits in alignment with FAA, OSHA, and ISO14001 standards.
Cynthia worked as a manufacturing engineer at Pitney Bowes Inc. in their Mail Inserters and Mail Sorters manufacturing division and was quickly promoted to production team manager, where she managed a team of 9-18 personnel in that role. She was Certified in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) and enabled radical improvements to the production team’s throughput and layout, reducing cycle time, inventory turns, andcosts.
Cynthia joined the R&D group (Advanced Concepts & Technologies) at Pitney Bowes and supported the department in a chief of staffrole in a project management role. She had oversight of the budget ($12M+) and was editor of a monthly newsletter to C-level and Board of Directors.
Cynthia joined Enterprise Procurement also at Pitney Bowes and managed the Global Business Process Outsourcing (Contact Centers)in 2007 where she helped the organization transition Billing Customer Care, Collections, Tech Support, Back Office to the Philippines, Panama, and India. She collaborated in the strategy development of the company’s global client support services which included business continuity.In 2017, Cynthia transitioned to support Indirect spend categories and managed the Supplier Diversity Program. She and her team were directly responsible for the following category spend areas: Global Business Process Outsourcing (Contact Centers), Robotics & Automation / Forklifts / Conveyors (Material Handling Equipment), Marketing, Human Resources, Facilities, Janitorial Services, Security Services, Operations Supplies, Supplies, and Utilities. Her area of expertise was around robotics & automation, supplier diversity, supplier risk management, strategic sourcing, andsupplier quality and performance using data analytics.
Cynthia has a B. S. in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Industrial Psychology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix. She obtained a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) by ISM. Cynthia is bilingual and is fluent in Spanish.
